ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Energy Systems Engineering Master's program at Sherbrooke International University is designed to equip engineers with the essential knowledge and skills needed to excel in the field of energy systems engineering. Our program focuses on providing students with the expertise to assess, interpret, and solve complex energy-related challenges through rigorous scientific research. Graduates of the Energy Systems Engineering Program emerge with specialized proficiency in areas such as renewable energy systems, energy management, energy policy, energy-efficient production/consumption, energy-environment relations, energy economics, and energy systems modeling.

Given the adverse environmental impacts and rising costs associated with fossil fuels, our program is committed to educating professionals who specialize in alternative and sustainable energy sources. By fostering a deep understanding of science and technology, our Master of Science (M.Sc.) education accelerates research activities within the Energy Systems Engineering Master's Program, thereby contributing to advancements in the field and addressing pressing energy-related concerns. EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Energy Systems Engineering at Sherbrooke International University offers two distinct sub-programs: the thesis and non-thesis options. In the thesis program, students complete a curriculum comprising seven courses, a seminar, and a thesis. Among these courses, two are mandatory, while the remaining five consist of two program-specific electives and three graduate-level elective courses from other engineering disciplines. On the other hand, the non-thesis program caters to individuals seeking to enhance their educational and professional development. This program entails the completion of ten courses and a graduation project, with two compulsory courses, five program-specific electives, and three graduate-level elective courses from other engineering fields. Course offerings within the program encompass a range of topics, including the historical, contemporary, and future perspectives of energy; techno-economic analysis of energy practices; solar power design; integration of renewable energy sources; contemporary economic challenges in energy systems; and fundamentals of energy systems optimization. At Sherbrooke International University, our Energy Systems Engineering program provides a comprehensive education tailored to the diverse needs and goals of our students.

CAREER AREAS

Upon successful completion of their M.Sc. in Energy Systems Engineering at Sherbrooke International University, graduates are presented with a multitude of career pathways.
